Here is a question worth sitting with: when was the last time a day on holiday was actually restorative, rather than just jam packed with an itinerary or sitting in the sun on a beach?

While sitting in the sun can be relaxing and itineraries are a great way to spend a holiday to experience the unique places, restorative also holds a great deal of importance. Imagine sitting in warm water, then having a massage, then eating a good meal and truly unwinding for the remainder of the afternoon.

Eden’s pool and massage combination is the second kind of day.

The pool is heated, running at around 29–30 degrees. We also add salt to the water, which when combined with that temperature means you’re essentially asking your muscles to unclench and let go of all the tension.

People sometimes do a double-take when they hear Eden’s pool is heated to around 29 or 30 degrees. In summer? In the Algarve? When the air is already 35 degrees? That sounds less like a pool and more like a bath.

In the Algarve, where a sea temperature of 19 or 20 degrees is considered freezing for some and most unheated outdoor pools are also on the cooler side, a 29–30 degree pool is the difference between getting into the water and standing at the edge debating it. The Algarve air is hot; the water needs to match it to feel like relief rather than shock.

The saltwater element helps too. Saltwater at body temperature doesn’t feel like submersion so much as being surrounded by something comfortable. It is easy on the eyes, and the buoyancy feels slightly different in a way that regular pool-goers tend to notice. It’s not dramatic, but it’s there.

The sunbeds are included with half or full day access, which at €18 for a half-day or €27 for a full day, and with massages available on-site, the pool area has enough to justify a full afternoon without needing to go anywhere else.

Most outdoor pools in the Algarve sit unheated and can sometimes be quite the challenge to get into as you attempt a freezing mass of water in the height of summer. Eden’s pool is different. It’s heated, saltwater, and sits at around 29 to 30 degrees year-round – which means it’s genuinely swimmable in April, comfortable in May and, during summer, it is the exact temperature you want to be in when the air temperature is doing what the Algarve air temperature does.

The saltwater element isn’t just a nice-to-have. Saltwater pools are gentler on skin and many people find them more restorative to swim in. Plus the bubbles from the jacuzzi and the cascading waterfall become a unique surprise to those who visit Eden’s pool in the heart of it’s Tropical Mini Golf Gardens.

Half-day access starts at €18 for adults, including a sunbed — which is straightforward pricing for a full afternoon in warm water in the Algarve. Full day is €27 for adults. For kids, it’s €12 for a half day and €18 for a full day; under-5s go in free. Half-day sessions split into 10am–2pm and 2pm–6pm, so there’s flexibility around when you go without needing to commit to an entire day.

The pool area also has the option to book a massage on-site, which is worth knowing about before you arrive and find yourself wanting one after your first twenty minutes floating around.

One thing worth mentioning: Eden made the decision to welcome families and children at the pool, which means it isn’t an adults-only spa experience. It’s a genuinely warm, well-maintained, lovely pool where you can spend a few hours and where the whole family can come.
